Mark Bingham was one of the passengers on flight 93 that crashed in Pennsylvania on September 11th 2001. It is believed that he and other passengers helped prevent the hijackers from reaching their intended target in Washington D.C.. He was so nonchalant about the fresh scar on his leg, acquired while running with the bulls in Pamplona, Spain, earlier that summer; that I believe he would have stood up to the hijackers.

I've known Mark since the mid-90s and I'm so grateful that I got to spend time with him at Southern Decadence in New Orleans less than a week before his untimely death. He was 6-foot-5 and very excited about the prospects for TMT-SF. Mark was outgoing and naturally gregarious. He had a way of including people in conversations or activities. Those are rare qualities that could have been an asset to Tall Men Together.
